Honoring Dr. Ruth

Peter & the Master Keys were honored to be part of the YM + YWHA of Washington Heights 2019 gala last week! The Y has a long history of serving the community in Washington Heights, which was the destination of a lot of German Jewish refugees around the time of WWII. Dr. Ruth is one of those refugees having been put on a train as a young girl and sent to safety from the Nazis.

I can tell you that at 91, she is still quite full of energy and mirth. As we started playing, she sprang to the dance floor, which was very welcome as many people followed her lead!
